Assessments
Experience world-class psychological assessments at SCS Psychology Clinic, where our commitment to empathy, instilling confidence, and promoting a supportive attitude ensures the best possible service for every individual.
ADHD, Autism, and Cognitive Assessments
At SCS Psychology Clinic, we understand that everyone experiences the world differently—especially people with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These conditions can affect how someone thinks, feels, behaves, and interacts with others. As awareness of ADHD and ASD grows, more people are seeking answers and support—sometimes for the first time in their teens or adulthood.
We're here to help.
We offer comprehensive ADHD and Autism assessments for individuals aged 10 years and older, including those who may not have had the chance to be assessed earlier in life. Whether you're a young person, a parent, or an adult wondering if these conditions might explain some of your experiences, our team provides respectful, evidence-based assessments in a supportive environment.
We also offer Cognitive Assessments (often called IQ tests) for anyone interested in understanding their thinking skills, such as memory, problem-solving, and learning style. These assessments can be helpful for school planning, career guidance, or simply gaining a better understanding of how your brain works.
Our goal is to provide clear, helpful insights that support your wellbeing and personal growth.

ADHD Assessments
An ADHD assessment involves a thorough evaluation conducted by a qualified psychologist with experience in identifying attention-related concerns.
Key components of an ADHD assessment include:
- An interview,
- Administration of targeted questionnaires,
- A cognitive assessment to evaluate thinking and reasoning abilities, and
- Collection of relevant information from other sources (with consent).
The purpose of the assessment is to explore an individual’s developmental background, current symptoms, and the impact these symptoms have on daily life. The psychologist uses this information to determine whether criteria for an ADHD diagnosis are met. Based on the outcome, a treatment plan may be suggested, which could include education about ADHD and psychological strategies. In some cases, referral to a psychiatrist may be recommended for further evaluation regarding medication.
It is important to understand that undergoing a psychological assessment does not guarantee a recommendation for medication. Any decision regarding medication is made independently by a psychiatrist.
ADHD assessments are available for individuals aged 10 and above.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessments
An Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessment involves a comprehensive evaluation carried out by a qualified psychologist to explore behavioural, cognitive, communication, and social functioning.
Key components of an ASD assessment include:
- An initial interview,
- Psychologist-led observations,
- Administration of assessments related to behaviour, thinking skills, language, and social interaction, and
- Collection of background and supporting information (with consent).
After the assessment, the psychologist provides feedback on whether the individual meets the criteria for an ASD diagnosis. A detailed report is also prepared, outlining recommendations for support based on the individual's specific profile and needs.
ASD assessments are available for individuals aged 10 and above.

Cognitive Assessments
A cognitive assessment evaluates an individual's mental abilities, including areas such as memory, attention, problem solving, and language skills. Often referred to as an IQ test, this assessment helps to understand various aspects of thinking and learning.
The process involves standardised testing, which ensures the assessment is administered and scored consistently to allow fair comparison.
Following the assessment, the psychologist prepares a detailed report and provides feedback to explain the results. Suggestions may be offered to support skill development or to make daily tasks more manageable. Cognitive assessments are commonly used in educational and clinical settings to support wellbeing and learning.
Cognitive assessments are available for individuals aged 10 and above.
